More than 30 people have been arrested in connection with a £32 million diamond robbery at Brussels airport.

The Guardian reported on Wednesday that police authorities in Belgium have now taken two dozen individuals into custody following the massive airport robbery in February. Likewise, six have been arrested in Switzerland and another was apprehended in France, according to the report.

The arrests come as a result of a coordinated pan-European raid this week, justice officials told the media. Nearly a dozen of the individuals in Belgium have criminal records, largely highlighted by armed attacks, according to reports.

Some of the uncut jewels taken in winter heist were recovered during the police raid in Switzerland.

The news follows the February robbery in which eight masked men swarmed a Helvetica Airways flight just before takeoff at Brussels airport. The men were able to get away with numerous packets of uncut, unregistered diamonds whilst holding security officials at gunpoint. Reports said that the crime took place in a time frame of less than 15 minutes and that no shots were fired throughout the ordeal.
