London City has been named as the best-performing British airport in terms of on-time performance.

New figures from the latest report by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) showed that the Docklands gateway outperformed the UK’s nine largest airports during the three months leading up to September.

The facility saw average delay times dip to a low of only five minutes, whilst its overall on-time rating climbed to 91 per cent for the period. This is compared to the average overall rating of 80 per cent for all 10 airports, with an average delay time of about 12 minutes.

London City airport’s chief commercial officer Matthew Hall told the media that his organisation’s employees have worked tirelessly to improve the average turnaround time at the airport and that the numbers would provide the team with a “huge boost”. He went on to add that London City’s goal is to provide passengers with utmost convenience, not only via its proximity to central London but also to by providing passengers with the ability to get through arrival and departure facilities in minimal time.
