More sunshine destinations for Glasgow airport

Budget carrier Jet2.com has announced the impending addition of five more routes to Spain from Glasgow Airport, a popular Scottish aviation hub. The new routes will be in service by summer next year.
From March of 2012, Jet2.com will offer budget flights to Barcelona, Murcia, Lanzarote and Malaga. In May, the airline will begin operating its affordable flights to Ibiza.
The springtime launch of cheap flights from Glasgow to Ibiza is perfectly timed to support clubbers and partygoers. Ibiza’s annual summer season of parties and club nights is famous with night-lovers around the world.
Jet2.com already offers a range of flights between Glasgow Airport and popular sunshine destinations. Budget-minded travellers can enjoy routes to Alicante, Tenerife, Majorca and Faro.
In addition to the five new routes coming next year, the carrier says it is planning to expand capacity on its existing services. Jet2.com says it will be adding more seats, as well as one flight per week to Tenerife.
Ian Doubtfire is the managing director of Jet.com. He says this is certainly an exciting time for the airline at Glasgow Airport.
He pointed out that the airline has only operating from Glasgow for a couple of months and has already launched five new flight routes. He said this and the fact that the carrier has upped capacity demonstrate the firm’s commitment to supporting the need of travellers from around Glasgow and the region to travel to top value destinations.
