Glasgow Airport to see new fashion stores - Glasgow Airport News

A leading retail fashion consortium has announced that it will open 11 new stores in the refurbished passenger terminal at Glasgow Airport.
According to the McArthurGlen Collezioni, it will create a “stylish, curved avenue of stores” in the departure lounge area, where “full price” fashion labels will be offered to airport passengers. Glasgow Airport will be the UK’s first airport to showcase the collection, which currently is featured at Dublin, Porto and Venice airports.
The opening is set for later this year, and is expected to further enhance Glasgow standing as the largest retail centre in the UK outside London, and as a major fashion centre.
McArthurGlen Luxury Retail’s chairman, Brian Collie, noted: “When you combine a vibrant city, a stylish airport, great brands and customers obsessed with fashion, Glasgow makes the ideal location for Collezioni.”
Glasgow was chosen for the collection partly because of the large percentage of leisure flights operated from the airport. Of the airport’s eight million passengers annually, 49 per cent are 18-44 years old, and 80 per cent of those are classified as middle-class professionals.
The group also owns and operates a number of designer outlets across the UK.
